Built on Honest Conversations About Money

We started sylsorayte in 2018 because financial advice shouldn't feel like decoding a foreign language. After years working in traditional banking, our founder Cassian Wolfe noticed something odd—clients would leave meetings more confused than when they arrived.

So we built something different. A place where financial planning feels more like chatting with a friend who happens to know their way around superannuation and investment portfolios.

From Kitchen Table to Tasmania's Coast

The first year was just Cassian and a laptop at his kitchen table in Launceston. He'd meet clients at local cafes—easier to explain compound interest over a flat white than across a big desk.

By 2020, we'd outgrown the coffee shops. We found our current office on High Street, and honestly, we still miss those cafe meetings sometimes. But we've kept that same approach—financial planning that doesn't require a finance degree to understand.

These days we work with families across Tasmania and beyond, helping people figure out everything from first home deposits to retirement plans that actually make sense.

What Keeps Us Going

Plain English Always

If you can't explain something clearly, you probably don't understand it well enough. We skip the jargon and speak like actual humans. Your money decisions are complicated enough without adding unnecessary complexity.

Your Goals, Not Ours

Some people want to retire early. Others want to travel. A few just want to stop worrying about bills. Whatever matters to you is what we focus on—no cookie-cutter investment plans or one-size-fits-all advice.

Context Over Numbers

Sure, spreadsheets matter. But so does understanding that you're saving for your daughter's education or planning to support aging parents. Good financial advice considers the whole picture, not just the balance sheet.

How We Actually Work With People

First meeting is always free. We sit down, talk about where you're at financially, and see if we're a good fit. No pressure, no sales pitch—just a genuine conversation.

If you decide to work with us, we'll dig deeper into your finances and build a plan together. Then we check in regularly to adjust as life changes. Because it always does.

We charge transparent fees—either hourly for specific advice or a monthly rate for ongoing support. You'll know exactly what you're paying before we start.

Cassian Wolfe

Founder & Financial Adviser

After a decade with major banks in Melbourne and Sydney, I moved back to Tasmania in 2018 to start something more personal. I hold a Diploma of Financial Planning and spend most days helping people navigate decisions about their money—from young professionals buying their first property to retirees managing their super. Outside work, I'm usually hiking somewhere around Cradle Mountain or attempting to improve my admittedly average golf game.
